  • yellow candy melts (for bumble bees)
  • piping bag
  • edible googly eyes
  • edible heart decorations

  1. Pour red candy melts into a bowl with 1 tbs. coconut oil and melt in microwave in 30 mins intervals and stirring in between. Takes about 1.5 minutes to melt fully.
  2. Dip each cookie into the melted red candy melt about 2/3 of the way up.
  3. Quickly add small heart sprinkles pushed into the red coated cookie.
  4. Allow to cool, about 20 minutes or 8 in the refrigerator.
  5. Melt dark brown candy melts in the same manner. Dip the remaining 1/3 uncovered parts of the cooled coated cookie into dark brown (for the head of the love bugs).
  6. Immediately add edible googly eyes.
  7. Poor remaining melted dark brown candy melts into a piping bag and cut a small hole at the tip.
  8. For red ladybugs: pipe a vertical line down the middle splitting the red part into 2 equal halves. Add dots in between hearts sprinkles.
  9. Leave to cool then serve

  1. Crush the jolly ranchers with a hammer or mortar and pestle.
  2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  3. Prep the cutting board or counter with flour. Sprinkle flour on a rolling pin as well.
  4. Roll out the dough to be about 1/3 or 1/4 inch thickness
  5. Use large size heart shaped cookie cutter to cut into the dough.
  6. Leave the cutter on the dough without removing yet.
  7. Use a smaller heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out a smaller heart cutout inside the bigger cutter.
  8. Remove the inner cutout excess. Transfer the heart shaped border onto a baking sheet with lined parchment paper.
  9. Repeat this step for as many cookies as you want.
  10. Go back to the crushed jolly ranchers, fill in the center of each heart shaped cutout cookie dough 1/2 – 1/3 way to not overflow while baking.
  11. Stick the cookies in the oven for 10 – 12 mins checking after about 8 minutes to make sure they don’t burn.
  12. Leave to cool.
