If your kid can sit quietly and do the iPad for six hours straight, good for you! But for the rest of us, we have to get creative to keep the kids occupied. Otherwise, it’s a chorus of “are we there yet” for hours on end and that’s the opposite of relaxing. So, we tested out a bunch of road trip toys to give you the lowdown on our favorites…
Good for ages 2-5 years. We love that it lets kids color with no mess. And they don’t have to worry about staying in the lines. As soon as it dries they can do it again. You can use a hair dryer to wipe away the color so you can start from scratch.
For ages 6+, but we have to be honest here: it’s kind of challenging! There are cards which you have to match the contraption with. Great that its self-contained and kids are using their brains.
For ages 1-4 years. They’re not cheap, but these will last and make great hand-me-downs. They buckle and unbuckle; that’s it!
For ages 4-6 years. It kind of feels like you’re drawing on an iPad, but it erases the picture with the press of a button!
For ages 3+. This is so cool because you can draw in different colors. It fits in the car seat pocket which is great! It also comes with stencils, which is great for little ones to practice drawing the alphabet or numbers.
For ages 2+. You just use the magnet to pull little balls around the wooden town maze. Love that this is one piece.
For ages 7+. These are so cute and the kids loved these. Whoever sees their card first wins that round! These are great because it gets the kids looking out the window.
You’ve got the toys covered, now go pack up the kid’s luggage…
