Cardboard Box Shadow Puppet Theatre

This cardboard box theatre gives a darn high production value show at a relatively low cost… aside from your time 😉  The big kids (age 3+) loved this for almost a year before it got crushed by a baby. (Tessssss!!)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

QUICK RECAP
Theatre (10 mins): Cut a large rectangle for your proscenium (oooh, fancy). Flip over the box and create an opening for your light source. Cut two more smaller rectangles on the sides to operate the puppets. Use white butcher/easel  paper for the actual screen carefully taping it down.

Puppets (Oh boy): These take a minute to cut out so if you aren’t going to veg out to Family Feud and get ‘er done, you can  purchase them online. Coffee stirrers make awesome sticks. To get the puppets perpendicular, take a piece of tape and fold it over the top of the stirrer leaving a little flap and use another piece of tape to attach it to the puppet (might need to see that). Turn on your light and voila!
