You know I love activities that use household items, so today we had Presley’s good friend Remy over to try these 5 straw activities that blew the kids away! 😉
Pom Pom Races
You’re going to take painter’s tape and toilet paper tubes to make an obstacle course. The rules are that you have to blow your pom pom from start to finish without using your hands. The tubes were definitely key; the kids got so excited. Even the moms had to give it a try…although we had some interference.
Straw Rockets
This was definitely Ford’s favorite. You just take your square and wrap it tightly around a pencil, remove and tape it. Make a little cone for the rocket nose and secure that too. Then cut out two triangles and attach your wings. Take this and slip it on a straw and blow! Blast off! This really surprised me how well it worked! Super fun… unless you’re the target.
Straw Necklaces
We calmed things down with some straw necklaces. This is a great impromptu play date activity. Quickly cut up straws to make awesome beads. I love the metallic biodegradable ones in the mix. The girls had a great time and I got a new necklace!
Painting with Straws

If you want some wall-worthy abstract art just take some paint, water it down and dribble it on your page using pipettes. Then take your straw and blow some cool designs. Honestly, I just love this because you can not mess it up. They all looked amazing!
Silly Straws

Finally, our silly straws. It only takes a minute to cut out a mustache and punch a hole in it. Slip it on a straw and it’s funny the entire lunch watching the kids sip their drinks. We made little lips for the girls, and of course, we could not resist making one for Tess. What can’t she rock?!
