3 Ball Pit Ball Activities

So I bit the bullet and bought a pack of ball pit balls.  I may or may not regret this decision, but now that I have them,  here are my 3 favorite ball pit ball activities that are great for babies to preschoolers.

1.  Ball Pit Baby Pool

Super simple, inflate the pool and dump in your balls.  What is not quite as simples is dumping in your baby.   Tess was terrified at first.  But after a brief learning curve, she is LOVING IT.

2.  Ball Pit Ball Toss

  • Cardboard box
  • Scissors

First, cut a bunch of circles (all sizes) out of a cardboard box.   Assign each hole a different amount of points and let the kids try to toss them through the holes to score.  For Tess, we cut out smaller holes in a cardboard sheet and placed it over the laundry basket and she rolled the balls in.  Fun all around.

3.  Ball Pit Ball Parachute

  • Blanket or bed sheet

Gotta be honest, I like “3” versus “2” things in a list, so this was kind of a throw away activity to round things out.  Turned out to be my kids’ favorite!  Take a large blanket or sheet and pour your balls onto it. Have each kid take a corner and lift up the blanket so that the balls bounce.  See how long you can keep the balls on the blanket while they bounce.

Now try to keep all your ball pit balls in the same place.. I keep finding random ones everywhere, ha!
