Pigtails are not only a classic (like these braids), but they look cute on everyone. Take your little piggies up a couple notches with a few new styles– perfect for curly hair, long hair, and even your most impatient ones’ hair.
Criss Cross Pigtails
INSTRUCTIONS
- Start by parting the hair right down the middle.
- Take a small section on top and tie it in a ponytail. Do the same on the other side.
- Twist one piece and carry it over to the opposite side and secure with a hair band.
- Repeat on the other side.
This is great for all types of hair but especially for the little ones who won’t sit for very long!
Twisted Buns
INSTRUCTIONS
- Start by parting the hair right down the middle.
- Section the hair into two sections.
- Grab a section at the top and split into two pieces and start twisting them together.
- As you go down, add more sections of hair into the twist. This is similar to a french braid but it’s much easier.
- Once you’re at the end, twist it all together into a bun and secure it with an elastic and some bobby pins.
- Repeat everything on the other side.
This is great for curly hair because it will really hold everything down in place.
Pull Through Braids
INSTRUCTIONS
- Start by parting the hair right down the middle and section off one side to keep it out of the way.
- Make a little ponytail at the top and clip it up.
- Underneath, go ahead and make another ponytail.
- Unclip the top ponytail, split it into two sections, and clip up the bottom ponytail that’s in between them.
- With those two sections that you made, add even more hair and make it into a new ponytail.
- From here, repeat the same steps all the way down. Unclip, split it into two sections, clip up the bottom, and reconnect the ponytail.
- When you’re done, go ahead and loosen it up.
- Repeat on the other side.
This one takes a little longer than the others, but it is so cool and lasts all day.
