Trail Mix 3 Ways, Because 1 Isn’t Enough

If your kids ask for snacks as often as mine do, trail mix is a great snack option. Here are three ways to do it. Each provides your little ones (and you!) with just enough energy without the sugar high of all the processed snacks.

Monkey Trail Mix
INGREDIENTS

  • Cheerios
  • Banana chips
  • Peanuts
  • Chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

  1. Scoop each ingredient into a container, then shake to mix it up.

Fancy Pants Trail Mix
INGREDIENTS

  • Pretzels
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Pistachios
  • Dried cherries
  • Chocolate chunks

DIRECTIONS

  1. Fill half of a container with pretzels.
  2. Add pumpkin seeds, pistachios, dried cherries, and chocolate chunks. Mix!

Afternoon Snack Attack
INGREDIENTS

  • Granola
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Dried cranberries
  • Yogurt raisins

DIRECTIONS

  1. Fill jar less than halfway full with granola, then mix in rest of ingredients.
